Softball Recap: Cedarville Comes Up Short

Cedarville lost against Greeneview back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Indians took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams.

Elizabeth Caraway and Katelyn Reed did some serious damage despite the final result: Caraway went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Reed scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Ankeney, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Cedarville has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Greeneview, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5.

While Cedarville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
