Basketball Recap: Horizon Drops Season-High Score on Desert Mountain

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Horizon). They blew past the Desert Mountain Wolves 60-38 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-47 back in December of 2024.

Horizon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Avery Olson out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Peyton Schiltz was another key player, going 7 for 16 on her way to 18 points and six assists.

Horizon was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Horizon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Desert Mountain, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-14.

Horizon will welcome Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Horizon surely won't give up without a fight. Desert Mountain has already played their next contest (against Notre Dame Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
