Baseball Recap: Statesville Takes a Loss

Statesville extended their losing streak to 15 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-16 in the process. They lost 15-0 to the East Lincoln Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 on Monday.

As for East Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Considering they have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For East Lincoln's part, Brandon Washington was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Phuntek, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Statesville nor East Lincoln have any future games scheduled.
