Recap: Poudre Impalas vs. Denver East Angels
The Poudre Impalas lost against the Denver East Angels back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Poudre falling 51-34. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Denver East is ranked 24th).
Poudre's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaden Cox, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Luke Foster who scored 5 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Cox scored a full 38.2% of Poudre's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
This is the second loss in a row for Poudre and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Denver East, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Poudre's road trip will continue as they head out to face Vista Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Vista Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday. As for Denver East, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Collins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
