Baseball Game Preview: Bryan Vikings vs. Midway Panthers

Bryan is 0-4 against Midway since April of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Vikings will square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m.

Bryan had taken Temple down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Vikings came up short against the Wildcats, falling 9-2. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Midway had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They blew past the Kangaroos 21-1. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by eight runs or more this season.

Midway's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Bryan, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14-2.

Bryan couldn't quite get it done against Midway in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
