Baseball Recap: Laurel Takes a Loss

Laurel scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Collins Tigers by a score of 22-21. If the Golden Tornadoes were looking for revenge after losing 10-1 to the Tigers when the teams met back in February of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

This is the second loss in a row for Laurel and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Collins, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurel will host North Pike at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collins, they will take on East Marion at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
