Basketball Recap: Alhambra Find Success

If Browne wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Alhambra, they should've done a better job of containing Ixchel Aleman Saldivar. The Alhambra Lions had just enough and edged the Browne Bruins out 32-30 thanks in part to Aleman Saldivar, who posted 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Alhambra's points.

Despite the loss, Browne still got an impressive performance from Zeiynap Al-Hemedat, who went 8 of 18 on her way to 23 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Those 23 points gave Al-Hemedat a new career-high.

Alhambra's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Browne, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Alhambra wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-7 defeat against Agua Fria on the 5th. As for Browne, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-10 loss against Red Mountain on the 5th.
