With a playoff win on the line, Dripping Springs rose to the challenge on Friday. They really took it to the Medina Valley Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-14 win. Considering the Tigers have won nine games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Chase Ames, who threw for 312 yards and six touchdowns on perfect 18-for-18 passing. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in October. Merrik Bloomgren also helped out as he racked up 105 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, Medina Valley still got an impressive performance from Xavier Gonzalez, who rushed for 102 yards and one TD.

Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.6 points over those games. As for Medina Valley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
Looking ahead, Dripping Springs will face off against Vandegrift at 3:00 p.m. on the 6th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 13.8, the Vipers 14.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Medina Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
