Portageville lost to Bernie two weeks ago, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Bulldogs blew past the Mules 8-2. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Portageville and bumps their season record up to 8-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Bernie, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-3.

Portageville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-0 loss against Scott City on the 12th. As for Bernie, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-2 win against Doniphan on the 12th.
