Nipomo entered their tilt with Morro Bay on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in September.

Nipomo was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-19, 25-15.

Nipomo found their leader in sophomore Tasi Maumausolo Matagi, who had seven digs and three aces.

Nipomo was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive matchups.

Nipomo's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Morro Bay, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-21.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nipomo will challenge Sanger at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Morro Bay, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Atascadero at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
