Baseball Game Preview: Hazelwood West Wildcats vs. Valley Park Hawks

The Hazelwood West Wildcats will square off against the Valley Park Hawks at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hazelwood West is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Hazelwood West came up short against Pattonville on Monday, falling 8-1.

Hazelwood West saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Billy Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Valley Park didn't have quite enough to beat MICDS on Saturday and fell 4-3. The matchup marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Valley Park's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4. As for Hazelwood West, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.

Hazelwood West was able to grind out a solid victory over Valley Park when the teams last played back in March of 2019, winning 5-2. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
