It was a good run, but  Villa Grove unfortunately witnessed the end of their  three-game winning streak on Friday. The  contest between the Blue Devils and the Sullivan Redskins didn't end well, with the Blue Devils falling  35-19. The Blue Devils were down  28-6 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
 Villa Grove's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jackson Gire, who threw for 120 yards and two  TDs.  Jacob Golightly helped  Gire out on the ground, rushing for 79 yards, while also catching one  score.
  Aiden Dinger produced another solid  effort rushing for 264 yards and three  touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry for Sullivan. That's the most  rushing touchdowns  Dinger has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was  Owen Smith, who rushed for 143 yards on only eight carries.
Villa Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Sullivan, their record is now 6-2.
 Villa Grove didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  49-26  loss against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond on the 24th. As for Sullivan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  34-27  win against Argenta-Oreana on the 24th.
