Soccer Game Preview: Ingleside vs. London

Ingleside is 0-9 against London since February of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Ingleside Mustangs will head out to face off against the London Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.

London better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Ingleside really get things going. Ingleside put the hurt on Tuloso-Midway with a sharp 5-2 win on Friday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask London). Everything went their way against King last Tuesday as London made off with a 12-1 victory. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Brahmas are ranked 820th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

London's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Ingleside, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Ingleside suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to London when the teams last played back in January. Can Ingleside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
