Brock Barrick made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one triple.
In other batting news, Kyle Watkins was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double. Max Hommer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
