Basketball Recap: Lauren Reding's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jesuit over Jefferson

Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 59-36 to the Jefferson Democrats. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Democrats are ranked fourth).

Jesuit lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lauren Reding, who posted six points. The dominant performance gave Reding a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Filkins, who earned three points and five rebounds.

Jesuit now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Jefferson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Jesuit will take on West Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson, they will square off against Rancho Buena Vista at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
