Softball Recap: Christian Beats San Marcos for Their Third Straight Win

Christian put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the San Marcos Knights.

Not much got past Ava Barrios, who gave up just four hits to keep San Marcos off the board. Furthermore, Barrios didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucy Sherburne, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Moody, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Christian's record now sits at 3-0. As for San Marcos, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Christian will take on Poway in a tournament on Thursday. As for San Marcos, they will be taking part in a tournament against Mission Vista at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mission Vista's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so San Marcos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
