Baseball Recap: Mcdowell Wins Going Away Against Mountain Heritage

McDowell won the last time they faced Mountain Heritage and things went their way on Wednesday too. The McDowell Titans put the hurt on the Mountain Heritage Cougars with a sharp 13-3 victory.

Kaine Boone made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Boone was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other pitching news, McDowell got a great performance from Hayden Shelton as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

Back at the plate, Jacob Davis was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Tryp Young was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

McDowell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Heritage only posted an OBP of .269.

McDowell now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mountain Heritage, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

McDowell has already played their next game, a 7-1 win against R-S Central on the 7th. As for Mountain Heritage, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 9-3 loss against North Buncombe on the 10th.
