Stebbins proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Piqua 3-1. This was payback for Stebbins, who suffered a 10-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Brayden Walters was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Jordan Rapsik was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Stebbins' win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-4-1. As for Piqua, they moved to 5-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Stebbins will have a chance to go back-to-back against Piqua: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
