Baseball Recap: Palmdale Academy Charter School Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mojave

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palmdale Academy Charter School). They put the hurt on the Mojave Mustangs with a sharp 23-2 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Alessio Ruiz made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Ruiz was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Isaac Torres was incredible, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He also got three hits, which is notable because Palmdale Academy Charter School is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 0-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Luis Ponce, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Palmdale Academy Charter School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Palmdale Academy Charter School's record now sits at 2-10. As for Mojave, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
