Waitsburg came out on top against Mabton on Friday thanks in part to Martin Vasquez's efforts. Vasquez rushed for 85 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries, which was good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards.

Looking ahead, Vasquez and Waitsburg will be playing at home against Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will enter the matchup having just beaten Yakama Nation Tribal, so the Cardinals will have to guard against a team looking to keep the ball rolling.
