Softball Recap: Dixie County's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Dixie County had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Cedar Key Sharks on Monday. The Bears' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Katelyn Blevins was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaicee Brown, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Dixie County's win bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Cedar Key, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Looking ahead, Dixie County will take on Newberry at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. Cedar Key does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
