Gavin Hardeman Goes Supernova in Lyons-Decatur Northeast Loss

Starting off the list is Lyons-Decatur Northeast's Gavin Hardeman, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Hardeman rushed for 248 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Those 248 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Bancroft-Rosalie's probably not too fond of Hardeman given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Hardeman saw the Panthers), he rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.

Nick Buchholz's big game helped extend Bancroft-Rosalie's winning streak to seven on Friday. Buchholz was unstoppable, throwing for 277 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 37 yards and two touchdowns.

Buchholz must have Lyons-Decatur Northeast's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Buchholz last faced the Cougars back in September of 2023, he rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 135 yards and a touchdown on only ten passes.

Graysen Briggs and Co. Win Seventh in a Row

Graysen Briggs was instrumental in extending Bancroft-Rosalie's winning streak to seven on Friday. Briggs was unstoppable, rushing for 108 yards and a touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Briggs it was a similar story. When Briggs last faced the Cougars back in September of 2023, he rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.

Braylon Wegner's big game helped extend Bancroft-Rosalie's winning streak to seven on Friday. Wegner was unstoppable, picking up 142 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Wegner must have Lyons-Decatur Northeast's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Wegner saw the Cougars), he picked up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Landen Cooper Delivers Best Performance of Season

Lyons-Decatur Northeast came up short on Friday despite Landen Cooper delivering his best game to date. Cooper rushed for 221 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards.

For the season, Cooper has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 125.6 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 68.57 rushing yards per game.
