Baseball Recap: Nicholas County Comes Up Short

Nicholas County came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-1 to the Hoover Huskies. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Grizzlies couldn't push the score so high this time.

Nicholas County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Burns, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Burns hit this season.

Nicholas County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Hoover, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Nicholas County will square off against Shady Spring at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Grizzlies are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Hoover, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-4 win against Charleston Catholic on the 8th.
