Softball Recap: Ballston Spa Wins Going Away Against Albany

While Ballston Spa put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Albany. The Scotties put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Scotties, who have now won six games by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Madelyn Perrone and Brooke Lescault did most of the damage at the plate: Perrone went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles, while Lescault went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Lescault a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Livia Wiltsie, who earned three runs and four stolen bases.

Ballston Spa has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Albany, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-13.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ballston Spa will face off against rival Shenendehowa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for the Scotties: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while the Plainsmen have snatched up six consecutive wins on the road. Meanwhile, Albany is set to challenge their familiar foe Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
