Baseball Recap: Barron Gets the Win

While Barron's victory against Unity wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Bears skirted past the Eagles 3-1.

Zac Edwards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. Barron is 6-1 when Edwards allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Barron's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Collin Duncan, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Duncan a new career-high. Bryce Kittelson was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Barron's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Unity, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Barron will be playing in front of their home fans against Grantsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Unity, they are taking a road trip to challenge Northwestern at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
