Softball Game Preview: Westminster Wolves vs. Mountain Range Mustangs

The Westminster Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Mountain Range Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Westminster and four for Mountain Range.

Westminster lost 20-4 to Dakota Ridge on Monday.

Westminster saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Magaly Santacruz, who went 1-for-2 while posting 2 RBIs, 1 double, and 1 run. Santacruz has been locked in at the plate lately, hitting .600 over her last nine games vs .402 in her previous 28 games.

Even though they lost, Westminster hit smart and finished the game with only four strikeouts. They have not posted that few strikeouts since the 1st, when they struck out three times.

Meanwhile, Frederick hit Mountain Range with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 13-1.

Westminster has now lost nine of their last 10 games on the road. That leaves them at a 2-10 record this season. As for Mountain Range, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
