Softball Recap: Riverside's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After flying high against George Washington on Tuesday, Riverside came back down to earth. The Warriors fell 8-3 to the Cabell Midland Knights on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 on April 1st.

Riverside saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shaylea Blackhurst, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Riverside moved to 16-7 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak. As for Cabell Midland, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside will head out to square off against Spring Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cabell Midland, they will venture away from home to challenge Brooke at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
