Soccer Game Preview: Tascosa vs. Lubbock

The Tascosa Rebels will head out to challenge the Lubbock Westerners at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Tascosa knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Lubbock likes a good challenge.

Tascosa's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Caprock as they made off with a 6-0 win. Rylee Anderson was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Lubbock was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They lost 5-1 to Caprock.

Tascosa is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five contests. As for Lubbock, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Everything went Tascosa's way against Lubbock when the teams last played back in January, as Tascosa made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
