Baseball Recap: Woods Cross Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Woods Cross Wildcats didn't have quite enough to beat the Mountain Ridge Sentinels and fell 4-3. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coleman Burbidge was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Woods Cross saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Razee, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Woods Cross' loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mountain Ridge, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

While Woods Cross had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
