Softball Recap: Coleman Wins Going Away Against Valley Lutheran

Coleman never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Valley Lutheran Chargers. This was a revenge game for the Comets: when they faced off against the Chargers on Monday, they had to take a 7-6 defeat.

Raegen McCoy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Eliza Lewis was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Lewis, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Coleman is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Valley Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Coleman has already played their next matchup, an 11-2 defeat against Benzie Central on the 29th. As for Valley Lutheran, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 loss against Ithaca on the 2nd.
