Basketball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Palmyra's Winning Streak

After flying high against Conestoga last Tuesday, Palmyra came back down to earth. The Palmyra Panthers lost 48-26 to the Yutan Chieftains on Friday. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Yutan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amelia Dieckman, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Mylee Tichota, who put up 12 points.

Palmyra's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Yutan, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmyra will venture away from home to challenge Wilber-Clatonia on Tuesday. As for Yutan, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Louisville at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
