Softball Recap: Pleasant Hope Comes Up Short

Pleasant Hope couldn't beat Bakersfield on Friday even though they stacked nine runs on them in the third inning. The Pirates fell just short of the Lions by a score of 13-12. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jordyn Miner stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Morgan Bannister was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Pleasant Hope's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Bakersfield, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7.

Pleasant Hope wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-3 defeat against Ash Grove on the 5th. As for Bakersfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-11 loss against Reeds Spring on the 6th.
