Wylie came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Garland Owls with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Pirates, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-14, 25-14.

Jolene Bao was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 13 digs and 11 aces.

Bao wasn't the only good server: Wylie was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. The Pirates are a perfect 8-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Wylie's record now sits at 18-11. As for Garland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wylie is set to challenge their familiar foe Sachse at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Garland will take on rival South Garland at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
