Basketball Recap: Bryant Scales Key Part of a Team Effort in Silverbacks Win

Legacy Academy won the last time they faced Oak Grove Classical Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Legacy Academy Silverbacks took down the Oak Grove Classical Academy Owls 60-44.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legacy Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryant Scales, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Scales has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Baca, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Legacy Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Oak Grove Classical Academy lost, don't look at Isaac Rush. Despite the final result, he had 18 points. Rush's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Brody Prochnow was another key player, putting up nine points.

Legacy Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Oak Grove Classical Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legacy Academy will face off against Dora at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Grove Classical Academy, they will square off against Menaul at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Grove Classical Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season.
