Baseball Recap: Whitewater Takes a Loss

Whitewater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 27th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 6-0 to the Delavan-Darien Comets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-0 two weeks ago.

Whitewater saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Carollo, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Whitewater's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Delavan-Darien, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitewater will face off against Jefferson at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Whippets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Delavan-Darien, they will square off against Cambridge at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
