Hilton Head Island saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alivia Armistead, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Armistead's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Colleton County waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Lanasia Sanders was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Timiyah Believe H was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Brooklyn Holmes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Hilton Head Island's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Colleton County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hilton Head Island hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .383. However, it's not like Colleton County struggles in that department as they've averaged .416. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
