Baseball Recap: Hempstead Takes a Loss

Hempstead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 12-5 to the Lexington Eagles.

Hempstead saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Alvarez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Hempstead's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Lexington, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hempstead will venture away from home to challenge Manor New Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manor New Tech will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Lexington, they will head out to take on Crawford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington is facing Crawford at the right time seeing as Crawford is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
