Volleyball Recap: Lincolnton Starts Season with Win at Home

Lincolnton took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. Everything went their way against the North Gaston Wildcats as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won four games in a row dating back to last season.

While Lincolnton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-8, 25-22.

Keeli Frye paced Lincolnton's offense, picking up eight kills. Frye got some help from Kathryn Parker and her 20 assists. Frye was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

North Gaston is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Lincolnton and North Gaston will both be playing Bessemer City the next time they take the court. The Wolves will head out to face the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
