Recap: Crest Ridge Cougars vs. Stover Bulldogs

The Crest Ridge Cougars struggled with threes on Wednesday (the Stover Bulldogs had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Crest Ridge was outmatched by Stover on the road and fell 54-19. Crest Ridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Crest Ridge struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They are 1-3 when they just don't pass the ball.

It was another big night for Ashlyn Pinzke, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals for Stover. That makes it four consecutive games in which Pinzke has scored at least a third of Stover's points. Hannah Bauer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and two steals.

Crest Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Stover, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Crest Ridge will head out on the road to square off against Knob Noster at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Knob Noster is coming into the match with five straight victories at home, so Crest Ridge is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Stover, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on La Monte at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Stover focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Wednesday.
