Staunton waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 42-32 victory over the Gillespie Miners. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Miners back in December of 2024, they had to take a 50-46 defeat.

Staunton has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Gillespie, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 15-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Staunton will face off against Carlinville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gillespie has already played their next contest (against New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
