Preview: Campbell County Cougars vs. Oak Ridge Wildcats
Campbell County is 0-10 against Oak Ridge since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Campbell County Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Oak Ridge Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Campbell County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Oak Ridge is ranked 20th).
Even though Morristown-Hamblen East scored an imposing 31 points on Friday, Campbell County still came out on top. Campbell County walked away with a 41-31 victory over Morristown-Hamblen East. Campbell County didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
Meanwhile, Oak Ridge strolled past Lenoir City with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 30-12.
It was another big night for De'Jauvis Dozier, who rushed for 68 yards and three touchdowns.
Oak Ridge's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Lenoir City's QB won't forget Elijah Bradley anytime soon given Bradley sacked him four times.
Their wins bumped Campbell County to 4-5 and Oak Ridge to 7-2.
Campbell County took a serious blow against Oak Ridge when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 41-6. Can Campbell County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
