Childress has gone 8-2 against Tulia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bobcats will be playing at home against the Hornets at 4:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Childress didn't have quite enough to beat Bushland and fell 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Bobcats have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tulia). They blew past River Road 20-10 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Roberto Martinez made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Martinez was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Jarvis Pestrana was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Tulia's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-7-1 when he doesn't). Logan Becerra was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one double.

Tulia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Childress dropped their record down to 10-10-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those road losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Tulia, their win bumped their record up to 14-7-1.
