Recap: Greenback Cherokees vs. Rockwood Tigers
The Greenback Cherokees can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past Rockwood with a 54-50 victory. The victory was just what Greenback needed coming off of a 65-20 loss in their prior contest.
Greenback's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emory McDonell, who scored 17 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which McDonell has scored at least 25% of Greenback's points. Another player making a difference was Shay McDonell, who scored 14 points.
Greenback's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Rockwood, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenback will face off against Oakdale at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Wartburg Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Wartburg Central is ranked 279th, while Rockwood is ranked 276th).
