Softball Recap: Roane County Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Roane County's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Polk County Wildcats by a score of 4-0. The win continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Sailor Presley was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Rhyan Henslee was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Roane County pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Polk County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Roane County will head out to challenge Tellico Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Polk County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Polk County Wildcats duke it out with Copper Basin Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
