Softball Recap: Monterey Trail Mustangs vs. Edison Vikings

Monterey Trail can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. They blew past the Edison Vikings 12-3. The victory was just what Monterey Trail needed coming off of a 10-0 defeat in their prior contest.

Maya Ewing was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (she also only allowed one walk). Ewing was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Monterey Trail let Dakota Bumbaca and Faith George loose on the outfield. Bumbaca scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while George went 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Whipper, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

On Edison's side, Lelia Tatupu made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run.
