Basketball Game Preview: Questa Wildcats vs. Santa Rosa Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Questa Wildcats face off against the Santa Rosa Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday... Questa is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.

Having struggled with 21 losses in a row dating back to last season, Questa turned things around against Coronado on Monday. They managed a 73-69 victory over the Leopards. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Questa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacovo Cardenas out in front who posted 20 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Cisneros, who put up seven points and nine rebounds.

Questa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Santa Rosa suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Saturday. They came up short against Logan, falling 71-51. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Questa's victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3. As for Santa Rosa, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
