Basketball Preview: Chillicothe Hornets vs. Cameron Dragons
Chillicothe is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Cameron a nine-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Chillicothe Hornets will look to defend their home court against the Cameron Dragons at 6:00 p.m. Chillicothe knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Cameron likes a good challenge.
Last Thursday, Chillicothe made easy work of Maryville and carried off a 59-33 win. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Chillicothe can attribute much of their success to Liz Oliver, who went 6-for-15 en route to 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists, and Lyla Beetsma, who shot 73% from the field to rack up 20 points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds Oliver has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lexy Smith, who earned ten points.

Chillicothe has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games. Cameron's defeat dropped their record down to 7-20.
