Baseball Game Preview: West Caldwell Warriors vs. Statesville Greyhounds

West Caldwell is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Statesville a nine-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The West Caldwell Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Statesville Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for West Caldwell's offense. They lost 10-0 to Newton-Conover on Tuesday.

West Caldwell saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Pippen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Pippen's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Statesville had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Mooresville on Friday, falling 17-1.

West Caldwell's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Statesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
