Softball Recap: Bloomfield Victorious

Bloomfield proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by seven) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Capital Jaguars, sneaking past 14-12.

Harley Rightmire was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Veronica Durall, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Capital, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Bloomfield will challenge Pojoaque Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pojoaque Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Capital, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Capital Jaguars duke it out with Taos Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. They also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 9.4 runs per game.
