Volleyball Recap: Niobrara/Verdigre's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Niobrara/Verdigre had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Santee Warriors by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Niobrara/Verdigre easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17.

Amber Sucha paced Niobrara/Verdigre's offense, picking up seven kills. Sucha got some help from Starlet Nielsen and her 11 assists. Nora Kucera and Lynae Nielsen kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Niobrara/Verdigre's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Santee, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Niobrara/Verdigre will face off against Neligh-Oakdale at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santee, they will be playing at home against Walthill on Thursday.
